Howard Wilson Fogt, Sr.

FOGT, Howard Wilson, Sr., age 91, died on September 28, 2005. Born in Anna, Ohio, he graduated from Anna High School and Capital University, and attended Ohio State University. He taught at Waynesville High School. Howard worked for Mobil Oil Company as an engineer and earned high credits for his accomplishments. To know Howard is to know a man who dedicated his life to enhancing the lives of people. Active in his church choir for over 50 years, he was blessed with a gift to share with many people. He served faithfully at Lutheran Church of Our Savior Church, and as a steward of Bethany Lutheran Retirement Community’s Saint Stevens’ Ministry. He was a bingo runner, sing-along leader, avid bridge player. For years he faithfully volunteered his wood-working skills at Wee Care Arts. Mary Beach Fogt, his beloved wife, and daughter, Alice preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Howard Wilson Fogt, Jr., Margaret Fogt Cothern, Katharine Fogt Hutchins and Sara Fogt Nisbet; grandchildren, Matthew W. Fogt, Elisabeth M. Fogt, Susanne S. Fogt, Charles D. Nisbet, Katherine C. Hutchins, Jeffrey Hutchins, Catherine E. Buckingham, and Bradley R. Cothern; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kristin, Kara, and Julia Buckingham, Ellen Frank, and Hannah and Noah Cothern. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thruston, Oakwood with Pastor Gary Eichhorn officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In memory of Howard, contributions may be made to charity of choice.
