Irving M. "Irv" Schaff, III

SCHAFF, III, Irving M. “Irv”, age 64, of Centerville, OH passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was a graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High School in 1977, received his BS in Civil Engineering from Tri State University in 1982, and his Masters in Engineering Management from University of Dayton in 2001. Irv was a life-long member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.  

Retiring in 2019, Irv was an Aerospace Engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 37 years. He was a passionate Syracuse University sports fan, especially men’s basketball and lacrosse and rarely missed watching a game to cheer on the Orange. Proceeded in death by his father Irving M Schaff, Jr., and two brothers Jeffery (Jeff) and Andrew (Andy) Schaff. Irv is survived by his wife of 37 years Tamala (Tammy); daughter, Lauren (Ben) Goldberg; son Johnathan; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Eleanor; along with his mother, Margaret (Brice) Schaff, his sister, Diane (Dean) Boyd, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family wishes to thank Irv’s care team of physicians, especially during this last stay at Miami Valley Hospital, as well as the University of Cincinnati Kidney Transplant Team. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH 45429 with a service to follow at 7 p.m.
