SCHMIDT, Jack A., age 84, of Beavercreek, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Jack was born on June 8, 1936, to the late Adolf and Maxine Schmidt, in Cleveland, OH. While attending Collinwood High School he met his sweetheart and future wife Angela.
Jack began working for Firestone Tire at the age of 17 and worked for the company for over 40 years before his retirement, spending most of his career in the Dayton area. He was known for being very strong willed and fun loving, and was always very family oriented.
Jack is preceeded in death by his wife of 46 years, Angela Schmidt; and sisters, Donna Danko and Ellein West. He is survived by his children, Laura (Gary) Stine, Rosemarie Schmidt, Jackie (Jim) Tuttle, Eric (Kristy) Schmidt, and Julie (Matthew) Hemmerich; grandchildren, Jason Stine, Tina Tuttle, Matthew Stine, JJ Tuttle, Brandon Stine, Nichole Aber, Renada Baldwin, Sara Kruty, Justin Springer, Chad Schmidt, Ashley Schmidt, Chandler Hemmerich, and Taylor Hemmerich; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
A visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Thursday, July 30, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, 45429, with a service to follow. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at hospice for the care and support that they provided Jack.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. For those unable to attend the service will be available to watch via Youtube by visiting Routsong Funeral Home’s page.
