WHITESELL, Jack Wilfred, age 91, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Jack was born on December 5, 1926 in Miamisburg to the late Harry & Carmen (Holtzman) Whitsell.
He was drafted in to Army after graduating high school and served in WWII. Jack worked for the state of Ohio with troubled youth thru work programs. He was a mathematician for Montgomery County, and later worked part-time for the Centerville Parks & Washington Township for over 30 years. Jack was quite the handyman, he remodeled his own home and built three other buildings. Jack & Joanne vacationed to Florida, Colorado, and San Diego over the years to spend time with their son.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jack W. Whitesell, Jr.; brother, Dale Whitesell; brother-in-law, Buddy Brown. Jack is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Joanne (Brown) Whitesell; cousins, Lynn Bogan, Terry Lee Webb, Linda (Marty) Tarkany, Steve Smith, Corrin Smith, Marion (Jay) Taylor, Bonnie Hylton, Dena.
A funeral service will take place 2:30pm Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial at Centerville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.routsong.com.
