SMITH, Jacquelyn P. (Jackie), 78, of Centerville, passed away on January 26, 2022 in her sleep from Covid. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School and attended The Ohio State University. Jacquelyn was a licensed Dental Assistant, licensed Respiratory Therapist, and also a wedding and horse show videographer.
She started riding ponies at the Dayton Country Club at the age of 3, graduating to show horses, winning multiple championships along the way. Later in life she raised Morgan Horses, making friends across the country many of which stayed in contact with her until the end. It was with a great deal of pride for her that people would recognize a horse she bred without knowing its name, and she bred 2 world champions. She loved her animals, most recently her two cats. Jacquelyn was a devoted wife, mother of 3, grandmother of 7 and great-grandma of 4.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years (together 51), Will; and her 3 children, Scott (Julie) Langer of Centerville, OH, Holly Langer of Jupiter, FL, and Clayton Langer of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Jack (Alayna) Langer of Franklin, OH, Cameron Langer of Indianapolis, IN, Brandon Ellis, Brittany Carmichael (Paul Hair) both residing in Jupiter, FL, Anthony Langer of Dayton, OH, and Joseph and Jacob Langer, both also residing in Jupiter; great-grandchildren, Avery Langer, Shawn Young, Devin and Chance Hair.
Memorial Visitation will be held 5PM on Saturday, February 5 at Marion’s Pizza, 241 N Main St, Centerville 45459. Private family only memorial service.
