BRANDT, James A., age 67, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Faye Brandt. Jim served in the US Marine Corps as an officer from 1963 to 1966. Jim was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Beavercreek and a graduate of Valparaiso University in Indiana with a degree in Engineering and worked for Navistar International for 35 years. Jim served as a volunteer at Southview Hospital and volunteered at the Victoria and Schuster Centers. Jim was an avid gardener and fan of all sports, and his grandchildren were the love of his life. Jim is survived by Sharon (Kahle) Brandt, his wife of 44 years, daughter & son-in-law; Michele (Steve) Manassah of Plainfield, IL, son and daughter-in-law; Dan (Kirsten) Brandt of Dayton, OH, 5 grandchildren; Emily, Jacob, & Peter Manassah, Jackson & Megan Brandt, and sister; Judy Kirkham of Tinley Park, IL. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 PM Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike Dayton, OH 45420. Funeral services will be held at the Plummer Funeral Home, 404 E.
