FLANDERS, James Alvin, age 88, of Centerville passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011.
James attended Roosevelt High School. He worked for NCR for 31 years then later worked at Old Colony Envelope Company. James was a charter member of Ascension Catholic Church and was also a member of VFW #9927.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Flanders; and sister, Audrey Eichelberger. James is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rosella; children, Nancy (Richard) Burton, Jim (Paula) Flanders, John Flanders, Tom (Kathi) Flanders, Dave (Susan) Flanders, and Cindy (Steve) Hopf; grandchildren, Tammy (Ken) Wolfe, Scott (Laura) Banford, Michele Kloda, Tricia Banford, Jimmy (Victoria) Flanders, Erika (Josh) True, Kyle Flanders, Tommy (Roseanne) Flanders, Joey Flanders, Danny (Tracy) Flanders, Noah Hall, Doug Flanders, Stephanie (Chris) Shively, Stephen Wackerman, and Kevin Hopf; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Megan, Tyler, Daniele, Anthony, Max, Cameron, Corey, Parker, Mackenzie, Daniel, Adam, and Matthew; sister, Gloria Welton; and special niece, Hazel Eichelberger, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering 45420. Burial in Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
