HOFFMAN, James age 77, passed away on April 21, 2002. He was a resident of Bellbrook, Ohio. He was born on May 16, 1924 in Louisville, KY. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Hoffman; three sons and their families: Mark and Susan Hoffman, and their son, Nicholas; Timothy (Rick) and his wife, Norma Landis; Jonathan Hoffman, Linda Hoffman, and their children, Justin, Megan, and Zachary; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Charles R. and Elise Hoffman; brother-in-law, James R. Keene, Sr. and his wife Marty; and nephews and nieces: Dr. Charles R. Hoffman Jr., Linda, his wife, and their children; Luann Hoffman and her two children; James Keene, Jr., his wife Iris, and their two children; Tom Keene, Katie, and their five children; Laurie Keene; Marcia Keene and her husband, Brian Filman; and Gretchen Seibert, her husband, Douglas and their two children. Jim graduated from Male High School and University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Sanctuary and the USS Breton in the Pacific. He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Dayton, Ohio. He was also a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, Veteran of Foreign Wars, National Woodcarver's Association, alumni associations of University of Louisville and Male High School, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Jim's career spanned several positions in sales and management with the Hertz Corporation, and Penn Body Company and as a Realtor. He served as a member of the Sugarcreek Board of Education. He was an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman, wood carver, and a musician. Services will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church in Dayton, Ohio, April, 24, at 1:30 PM. Interment will be at the Bellbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429 Vision 2000 Fund or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
