KNIESS James, age 82, of Cookeville, TN passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cookeville, TN. He was born October 26, 1923 in Dayton, OH to the late William and Bessie Wick Kniess. He was a Veteran of World War II, 8th Air force Division serving as a Navigator. James was a retired supervisor with Duriron/Flowserve. He was a Masonic member of Antioch Temple, Horace Irvin Chapter #06477, Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite, and the Eastern Star Victory Chapter #410. James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Landis Kniess (whom he married October 11, 1946) of Cookeville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Celeste Kniess of Dayton, John & Linda Kniess of Blairsville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dallas Mitchell of Dayton, a sister-in-law, Betty Kniess of Dayton, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Monday, July 31, 2006 at 9:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home 6 Oakwood Ave. at Irving with Rev. Shirley Landis officiating. Burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City. Family will receive friends Sunday, from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.routsong.com.
