FRANCIS, James Michael (Mike), age 69, of Kettering, passed away on February, 21 2025. He was born November 30, 1955, the son of the late James and Margaret (Noble) Francis. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Justina (Snyder) Francis; children, Zach (Melissa) Francis, Vince (Timarie) Francis, Jessica Hart, and Brittany Hart; grandchildren, Austin, Stanley, and August Francis, whom he adored; sister, Patricia Francis; and numerous extended family members and friends. Mike graduated from Vandalia Butler High School in 1974. He went on to forge an impressive career at Esther Price Candies, where he began as a warehouse supervisor and tirelessly worked his way up to the role of plant manager. His unwavering commitment and industrious spirit made him a lifetime valued employee, instrumental in the day-to-day operations that helped shape the brand into what it is today. A true jack of all trades, Mike was known for his remarkable ability to build and repair just about anything. Whether it was a home improvement project or a heartfelt gift for a loved one, he poured his soul and skill into every endeavor. His legacy extends beyond his professional achievements; he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration to many. Beyond his work, Mike found his greatest joy in spending time at Lake Cumberland, where he made countless cherished memories with family and friends. He wasn’t just a visitor—he built his house there from the ground up, a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship. Whether it was a day on the water, working on a new project, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, the lake was his sanctuary, a place where his spirit will forever live on. Above all, Mike was a devoted family man, and nothing brought him more happiness than his grandchildren. He loved watching them grow, teaching them new things, and sharing his endless wisdom and laughter. His eyes would light up whenever they were around, and he made sure they knew just how much they were loved. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society in memory of Mike.
