KEY, James Jim, age 86, of Kettering, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. Jim was born on April 22, 1932 in Crawford, TN to the late Barney and Nora (Wilson) Key.
His family moved to the Dayton area where he graduated from Kiser high school in 1952. Jim worked for Standard Register for 39 years before retiring. Jim was always interested in real estate, and even started Jim Key Realty, after earning his brokers license. He never met a stranger, and was beloved by his whole family, especially all of his nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his 10 siblings, and his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce A. Key (nee Elliott). He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Steve Gengler) Swisher and Jeanna (Joe) Bocko; grandchildren, Angela, Shelby, and Alec; and great-grandchildren, Noah, London, and Landon.
The family would like to thank his nurse Sandy with Gem City Home Care, and his friend Jerry Richardson, for all the support and care they gave Jim over the years.
A visitation will be held from 4-6pm on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A service will be held the following day at 10am, also at Routsong Funeral Home. Entombment at Davids Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton OH 45417.
