SWORD, James M. age 90, of Dayton, OH passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at his residence. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, George & Clara Sword and two brothers. Jim was a Veteran of WW II serving in Saipan as a Staff Sergeant with the 777th Army Air Forces Base Unit 147th Airway Communication Service. Jim retired from Logistic Command in 1978 from WPAFB. Jim attended the Holy Angel's grade school and graduated from Chaminade/Julienne and the University of Dayton. He was instrumental in starting and a member of Sigma Chi at UD. Jim is survived by his wife of 29 1/2 years, Jean Eleanor (Drummond) Sword, beloved pet Chessie, his nephews and their families. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 218 K Street, Dayton, OH with Fr. Dan Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH. There will be no public visitation. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Michelle Thompson and Cindy L.
