NIX, James, Jr., age 75 of Kettering, passed away Monday, April 8, 2002, at Southview Hospital. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a certified public accountant. James was a member of Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Nix; his parents, James V. Nix, Sr. and Elise Nix; granddaughter, Karen Booth; and his grandson, Scott Booth. Survived by son, William Nix and his wife, Brenda, of Kettering; daughter, ''Jo'' Tullo and husband, Jim, of Naples, FL; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and brother, John Nix and his wife, Flo, of Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2002, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, with Pastor Bill Zimmann officiating. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 40 S. Perry St., Suite 120, Dayton, OH 45402-1429 .
