of Dayton, OH, died on Saturday, March 20, 2004, after a brief stay at Hospice. He was born February 28, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois. Jim was a graduate of Stivers High School, and the University of Dayton, where he was a star athlete in football and baseball. He served in the US Army during WWII and attained the rank of Lieutenant. His working years were spent at General Motors as an executive. He and his wife were members of the Vincent Perilli Sons of Italy Lodge, where Jim enjoyed being the “Coach” of the Italian Stallion Bocce Ball Team. To Jim, family meant everything. Preceded in death by his parents, Umberto and Marie Fiorita; sisters, Roseanna, Amelia, Letizia, Adeliana; brothers, Mike, Frank, and Albert “Babe”. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; sons, James Fiorita, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Bellbrook, Ted Fiorita and wife, Rose Ann of Paducah, KY, Vince Fiorita and wife, Larisa of Wooster, OH; daughter, Dee Quinn and husband, Tim of Kettering; grandchildren, Annette, Jim, Jack L., Robert C., Tony, Angela, Kelly, Kerry, Ariana, Emma, and Vincent; great-grandchildren, R.J., Maria, Brittany, Paige, Taylor and Justin . Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville with Father Tom Schmidt officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 PM, Monday at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. The family wishes that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 or The Church Fund of St. Francis of Assisi.
