SHEEHAN, James R., of Vandalia, passed away at home Wednesday, January 12, 2005. Jim was born on January 3, 1928 to Dennis and Helen Sheehan in Philadelphia, Pa. He served in the United States Navy. Jim moved to Dayton in 1950 and joined the Dayton Police Department. He was the sole owner of the Sheehan Detective Agency for the past 40 years. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna White; sister, Helen and brothers, Dennis, Robert and Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Gerri; daughters, Maureen (Nick) Keyes, Patti (Greg) Rulon, and son, Jim Jr. (Fran) Sheehan; step-daughters, Maria (Eric) Hofstetter and Amy (Sean) Britton; 5 brothers, Jack, Edward, Thomas, Frank, and William; sister, Margaret Sheehan and family friend, Addie Campbell; grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Meghan White, Matthew (Cheri) Simmons, Esther Maria (Mike) Norton, Angela, Nick Jr. (Stacey), Stephen and Joe Keyes, Chloe and Madeline Hofstetter, Mackenzie and Ashley Britton, great grandchildren, Kaliana Keyes, Keenan Norton, and Maddox Simmons. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 17, 2005, at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville with Father Chuck Mentrup officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4-8:00 PM, Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
