James Robert Strausburg, Centerville, Ohio, beloved and loving husband of Virginia (Ginny) died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at peace at home where he chose to be. The last two years have been a gift of grace from God.
He was born in Brookville, Ohio on January 6, 1929 and retired from the General Motors Corporation. He was a lifetime member of the Trotwood Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter Jeannie Strausburg and son Scott Strausburg of Dayton, grandchildren Nicole, Josh and Shawn Strausburg, and six great grandchildren.
Two stepsons who he helped raise from young children also survive him. Nicholas Dinsmoor (Angela) of Kailua, Hawaii, and Gregory Dinsmoor (Jennifer) of Springboro, Ohio with grandchildren Alyssa, Gavin and Alexandra.
Surviving sisters are Joann Skidmore and Barbara Deisher of Brookville, and dozens of nieces and nephews. His brother Thomas Strausburg and sister Patricia Huber preceded him in death.
The family is very grateful to Dr. Jonathan Saxe, Dr. Thomas Hirt and Miami Valley Hospice for their compassionate care.
A memorial mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6696 Springboro Pike, Centerville, Ohio.
He was, above all else, devoted to his family.
