DITTMAR, Sr., James Russell, age 78, born in Dayton, Ohio on July 14, 1934 and passed away at home after a long illness on August 8, 2012 in Sun City, California.
James graduated from Chaminade High School in 1952. He worked for many years at Dayton Buick, Davis Buick and Bob Ross Mercedes in Dayton and was known to be a very honest mechanic. James enjoyed watching Nascar and loved his pets.
Preceded in death by his parents, Naomi Bender and Russell Dittmar. James is survived by his loving wife, Helen Louise Dittmar, daughters, Mary Jo Subler and April Grunden, sons, James Russell Dittmar, Jr., Charles Dittmar, and Steve Dittmar, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, step-brothers, Jerry Bender and Larry Bender, and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, August 17, 2012 also at the funeral home. Burial will be following at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be a celebration cookout following the burial at Jim Jr.'s house.
