James "Terry" Seagraves

James T. Seagraves passed away on September 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. 

Born on January 22, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee to James and Mattie Seagraves. He was affectionately known as "Terry" to his friends and loved ones. Terry was a skilled auto mechanic then progressed to manager at Renault of Dayton. He dedicated many years of his life to the automotive repair industry. He opened a successful business "Main Street Body Shop," which he ran in Dayton Ohio. He moved the business to New Lebanon in 1978 until his recent retirement in 2020. He believed in hard work and determination which was a foundation that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. 

In 1959, Terry married the love of his life, Silvia Miller, with whom he shared over six decades of marriage. Together they raised three children, Terilynn, Michael, and Debbie, who brought them great joy and pride. Family was paramount to Terry, and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Terry's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind, including his beloved wife Silvia, son Michael, daughter Debbie, and son in law Bruce. His grandchildren Erica, Brandon, Justin, Josh, Brittany, Jamie, Jenny, Jacob, and Brett, as well as his great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Brielle, Walter, Parker, Maren, Noah, Ben, Charlie, Grayson, Weston, Raelynn, Chase, Cameron, Chloe, and Connor. In addition, close family members Ed and Jackie and Carol. He is preceded in death by his mother Mattie and father James, beloved daughter Terilynn, brother Eddie, and sister-in-law Martha.

Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, trips to his lake houses, beach vacations, and his many donations to the state of Ohio by betting on dogs, horses and spending time at casinos, and his annual Christmas scratch off lottery tickets as gifts to his children and grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held on September 20, 2024, at Routsong Kettering from 9 am to 11 am. Following the visitation, a funeral service celebrating Terry's life will be conducted at Routsong Kettering at 11 am on the same day. The burial will take place at Mt Zion Park Cemetery. 

Terry Seagraves will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of hard work, love for family, and dedication to his community will endure long after his passing. May he rest in peace.
