age 84, of Dayton, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000, in the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield. He was a graduate of Oakwood High School and was in the Marines during World War II. For over 30 years, James served as a volunteer at the Veteran's Administration Center and each Sunday transported the residents to church. He was a member of the John W. Durst Lodge #716 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the Antioch Shrine. He had retired from McCall's Corporation. Preceded in death by 2 children; his grandson, James Karras; and by his brother, Raymond Haley. Survived by a daughter and her husband, Shari and Kirk Dickinson of Los Angeles CA; a sister, Clarice Gilbert of Lexington KY; a granddaughter, Connie Lynn Hargrave of Los Angeles CA; 3 great grandchildren, Dylan, Demetria and Devon; a long time friend, Helen Fisher of Dayton; a nephew and his wife, Richard and Shirley Haley of Springboro; and a great niece and great nephew, Jill of Kettering and Jeff of Springboro. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, in the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave. at Irving, Oakwood, with Rev. Edward A. Puff officiating. The family will greet friends from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M., Sunday, in the funeral home with Masonic Services at 5:45 P.M.. Burial will be in the Mennonite Cemetery, Medway.
