Jane Frances Worner

Worner, Jane Frances, age 77, passed away July 30, 2008 at Heartland of Kettering after a year of battling colon cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Worner; her parents, George Clifford Beasecker and Margaret Maude (Light) Beasecker; her two brothers, George Douglas Beasecker and Gerald Frank Beasecker; and her sister, Kathryn Margaret Jaffke. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela S. Worner of Seattle, WA, Sandra K. Pierce and husband George of Oakwood, and Virginia A. Snead and husband Steve of Dayton; and her two grandsons, Brandon D. Pierce and Colin A. Pierce of Oakwood. Always fond of animals and a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan, she also leaves behind her beloved cat, Sparky. Born in Salinas, California, Jane grew up in Burlington, WI and Marysville, OH, where she was Valedictorian of her Marysville High School class of 1948. She had the lead in the school musical her senior year and played trumpet in the marching band. A Registered Nurse and graduate of the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1951, she gave up her career to raise her children but her desire to help others was strong. Jane was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher when her children were young. Following her husband's death, she did volunteer work for the nursing home that cared for him. While a resident at The Grand Court, she would often help take care of other "older" residents. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 at Routsong Funeral Home's Kettering Chapel, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Pastor Brian Thie of Oakwood United Methodist Church officiating. Internment will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home on Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SICSA, Hospice of Dayton, or Oakwood United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staffs of The Grand Court, Heartland of Kettering and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Jane these past years.
