Jane Ireton

Ireton, Jane Albers, age 90, died peacefully at her home in Centerville on Thursday Jan. 18. Born in Sidney, Ohio on April 28, 1927 to Lenita and Edolyn Albers, Jane graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Ireton and by her husband of 56 years, Richard J. Ireton, a noted surgeon in the Dayton area. Jane is survived by her daughter Kathleen Ireton, of Oakwood, son and daughter-in-law Kevin Ireton and Cynthia Battista, of New Milford, Conn., and by sisters-in-law Patricia Foster, of Tucson, Ariz. and Laura Ireton, of Van Wert, Ohio. Janes accomplishments were not the sort to make impressive reading in an obituary. Instead, she devoted her life to helping others accomplish such things and to helping them survive the challenges along the way. A longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Jane tried to embody unconditional love, and by the end of her life, was filled with such grace as to make all who knew her seek out her quiet presence. The family would like to thank her wonderful Hospice of Dayton staff and Janes personal caretakers Julie Sigmund, Charlene Wanczyck and Haven Rodriguez. No public funeral service is planned.
