Jane Kennedy Maltby

Jane Kennedy Maltby, age 82, Dayton native passed away October 19, 2004 in Mesa, Arizona. Jane graduated from Steele High School in the last class before the school was closed in 1940. She was a life member of former Central Reformed Church and a charter member of Oak Creek UCC. Jane was a former employee of Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and Kettering Schools. She studied vocal training with several local teachers and was a soprano soloist in many local and area churches, service organizations and nursing home groups. She maintained a membership in the Dayton Music Club and Chorus and was a member of the music Appreciation Chorus. She and her late husband, Robert, volunteer at Kettering Medical Center for 15 years and Trinity Community of Beavercreek. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Maltby. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Dave and Linda of Tempe, Arizona and Steve and Nancy of Mesa, Arizona, her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Gallivan of Westerville, Ohio, brother-in-law, William Parker, Jr. of Centerville, Ohio, grandchildren, Amy Glor of Tucson, Arizona, Matthew Maltby of Newmarket, England, Meredith Maltby of Dayton, Ohio and Heather Maltby of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1st at 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
