Janice Bishop

Bishop, Janice C, age 89, of Miamisburg, died February 14th, 2017. Born August 11, 1927 in Lima, Ohio to Howard F. and Frieda (Fleming) Carr. Janice graduated from Fairview High School in 1945 and Denison University in 1949, working at both Rike's and Kettering City Schools. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a 53 year member of PEO chapter DA, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church for 55 years. Janice enjoyed volunteering for Kettering & Sycamore Hospitals for over 25 years, knitting hundreds of newborn baby hats and delivering mail. She also made countless shawls as part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry in her church. Janice enjoyed traveling all over the world. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Most importantly, she knew Jesus, loved Jesus, and is now with Jesus. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl R. Bishop, sister Jean Marie, and brother Howard Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Sally (Mark) Watkins, sons Ned (Kathy) Denlinger and Phil (Lisa) Denlinger; grandchildren Matthew (Ryan) Watkins, Stephen (Sarah) Watkins, and Laura Watkins; Kristen (Andrew) Tyler, Nathan (Raeann) Denlinger, Katie Denlinger and Kendra Denlinger; Philip "Chip" (Danielle) Denlinger, Andrew and John Denlinger, and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church, Kettering with a service to follow. Interment will be at Woodland cemetery.
