Jean Lingus

LINGUS, Jean, age 71, of Kettering, formerly of Beavercreek passed away Friday, April 29, 2005. Jean was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church. She worked at Dorothy Lane Market, Far Hills Ave. and was known as the “Meat Police”. Jean was a member of the Eagles #321 and the VFW #8312. She had a passion for bowling, was a Reds fan, had a Coca Cola collection and above all, loved her grandchildren. In her travels she enjoyed going to Branson, MO and to Michigan for family reunions. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lingus, in 1985 and daughter, Phyllis Marie Barber. She is survived by daughters, Ronda Knight of Kettering and Robin (Rick) Dilsaver of St. Mary’s, OH; sons, Jim Barber of FL, Chris (Kim) Karayannis of VA, George (Annie Harrison) Karayannis of Covington, OH, Randy Lingus of TN, and Raymond Lingus of TN; 5 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; a great-great grandson; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, Harold (Lovie) Williams of OK; special friends, Denny and Alice Harrison of Eaton, OH and step-daughter, Cindy (Roger) Rowland, of TN, along with two additional grandsons, and three additional great grandsons and an additional great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Belmont United Methodist Church, with Pastor Patricia Iddings officiating. Burial in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
