WHALEN, Jean Marie, age 80, of Centerville passed away on October, 5, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on August 23, 1934 in Worchester, MA to the late Theodore and Lucy Lafond.
Jean worked as a nurse at Kettering Medical Center for 25 years then later volunteered there. She was a member of Church of the Incarnation.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Tom Whalen; children, Ken (Vonda) Whalen of St. Louis, MO, Cindy (Matt) Trimeloni of Centerville, OH, Jim (Stacy) Whalen of Grand Rapids, MI, Bob (Mary) Whalen of Cresskill, NJ, and Dan (Honey) Whalen of Gahanna, OH; 10 grandchildren; brother, Bob (Joan) Lafond of Dothan, AL; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Family will greet friends from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. A memorial mass will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
