Jean Mary Conner

CONNER, Jean Easter age 80 of Centerville, formerly of Birmingham, AL., passed away on October 22, 2008. Jean was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, AL and from the University of Montevallo, in Montevallo, AL. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Alabama and in Florida. Jean was an active member of St. George's Episcopal Church, co-founder of the Meals on Wheels Program in Rome, NY, She was an advocate for children with Learning Disabilities; past president and active member of the Association of Children with Learning Disabilities, member of D.A.R. (Daughters American Revolution), member of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and member of the First Families of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Irene (nee Bray) Easter and brothers, Daren Harrison Easter and Larry George Easter; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nelson and Brittania Conner. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert J. Conner, daughters, Dawn Conner Wagley, Camille Conner York and Leigh Conner Godich; son, Robert C. Conner; grandchildren, Bradley York, Erin York Stanley, Ross Wagley, Ryan Wagley, Steven Godich and Brittany Conner; great-grandchildren, Owen Nicholas Stanley, Alexander William Stanley, brother, Philip Weldon Easter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 25, 2008 at St. George's Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH at 11:00 with The Very Reverend R. James Larson officiating. Family will receive friends following the committal service at St. Georges Church.
