Kettering

A Celebration of Life: Jean Elizabeth Roush Wolfe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and educator.

Born on April 13, 1947, to Chet and Dottie Roush, Jean was a beloved member of the Kettering community. She graduated from Fairmont West High School in 1965 and earned her Bachelor's in Education from Ohio University in 1969. Her passion for teaching led her to a fulfilling career spanning over 35 years at Kettering City Schools, where she nurtured countless young minds from fourth to sixth grade.

Jean married John Wolfe in August of 1969. Together, they raised their daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth. The family shared many cherished moments traveling and camping across the United States. Jean's dedication was not limited to her family, as she devoted her time to serving as a youth group leader at Christ United Methodist Church and a Girl Scout troop leader. She also organized reunions for her beloved Fairmont Class of 1965. But her true calling was that of grandmother to her four grandchildren: Payton, Jack, Cate, and Ben.

Jean is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Wolfe; her brother John (Suzie) Roush; daughters Rebecca (Brad) Probasco and Elizabeth (Peter) Wolfe-Eberly; grandchildren Payton, Jack, Catherine, and Benjamin; and nephews Luke (Brooke) and Mark (Natalie) Roush. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy Roush, and her sister, Sally (James) Brown.

Please join us in honoring Jean's remarkable life at a Visitation at Routsong Funeral Home Kettering Chapel on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 4-6 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at noon at Routsong Funeral Home Kettering. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the Fairmont Athletic Boosters.

Let us celebrate the life and legacy of Jeanie, a source of positivity, friendship, and love to all who knew her.
