It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jeffrey E. Stevenson on July 10, 2024.
A man known for his kind and generous spirit, he had a remarkable sense of humor and always lent a helping hand to those in need. His adventurous spirit led him to be the first to raise his hand for any new journey. This was never truer than when he decided to launch Crazy Uncle Jester’s hot sauces. It combined his love of food, spice, people and creativity.
Jeff leaves behind his loving wife, Lori Stevenson, his partner in all of life’s dreams. The center of all his thoughts were around his mini-me, his six-year-old daughter, Grace, whom we adopted from Vietnam in 2022. He worked tirelessly filling out hundreds of documents to ensure that no stone was left unturned in the quest to get Grace home.
Every year, Jeff embarked on "The Cranberry Trip," a tradition where a multitude of multigenerational men hiked the Monongahela National Forest. He was never more at peace than when he was sitting on the banks of the river surrounded by the silence of the forest. For Jeff, this trip was an extension of his time with the Boy Scouts and one of his proudest achievements of being an Eagle Scout.
Jeff was born on August 4, 1971, and grew up in Jackson, OH. This is the place he will always consider home. Jeff graduated from The Ohio State University with his bachelor’s degree. He carried on the legacy of his dad, brother and brother-in-law by proudly proclaiming he was a Buckeye. He also received his MBA from Wright State University. In addition to Crazy Uncle Jester’s, he found his calling in food safety and food science.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Lori; daughter, Grace; mother, Aggie Stevenson; brother, Dr. Sherman Stevenson (Sarah); nephews, Taylor (Aubrey) and Griffin Stevenson; mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Larry Nanna; and brother-in-law, Scott Nanna. He also had a host of very special Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Jeff is preceded in death by his beloved father, Dr. Steve Stevenson and his grandparents. In honor of Jeff's life, funeral services will be held to celebrate his memory. Friends, family, and all who knew Jeff are invited to pay their respects and share their memories Friday, July 19 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 20 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Jeff will be laid to rest in David’s Cemetery with a reception immediately following at the Presidential Banquet Center, 4548 Presidential Way, Dayton, OH 45429.
Jeff had a strong love of animals and a tender heart toward their rescue. This was never more evident than the adoption of our three-legged dog, Jack. We ask that memorial contributions be made in Jeff’s name to SICSA, 8172 Washington Church Rd., Washington Twp., OH 45458, or your local animal shelter.
He will forever be remembered as a friend to all and a man who brought laughter and joy wherever he went.
