Jewell Christine Barnett

Barnett, Jewel age 91, of Dayton, formerly Huntington, WV, died January 4th, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 18, 1916, in Clear Creek, WV to the late Okey and William Neale Stribling. Jewel was a graduate of Raleigh General Hospital School of Nursing in Beckley, WV and retired as a Registered Nurse at the C&O Railroad Hospital in Huntington, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Howard Barnett. Survived by her loving son and daughter, Chuck Barnett and Sue Neal Martin, son-in-law David C. Martin; Her three granddaughters, their spouses and children: Jennifer Martin and Michael Born, Rebecca and James Kahn, Pamela and Michael Hahn. Her great-grandchildren are: Catherine Martin, Joseph Blackwell, Abigail Born, Sydney Kahn, Eric Hahn, Danielle Kahn and Emily Hahn, sister; Kate Johnson of Forest, VA and sister-in-law; Casey Stribling of St. Albans, WV. Jewel was a dedicated and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A long-time member of Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, Huntington, she will be sorely missed by all her family and many good friends. Funeral service at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429 at 1pm Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Interment will be at David’s Cemetery immediately following. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
