Jill Ann Daane, age 62, of Xenia, Ohio, and formerly of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 21, 2025. Born in Grand Rapids, Jill was a vibrant, eccentric spirit whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven from her passions, her family, and her unwavering belief in second chances.
Jill was a distinguished professional, demonstrating remarkable leadership and innovative thinking throughout her career. She held positions as a Corporate Administrator at Daane’s Food Markets, Inc., and offered enterprise solutions via training and consulting at Bass Inc. Her diverse educational background included dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Business, pursued at esteemed institutions such as Calvin College and Western Michigan University.
An active member of her community and various organizations, Jill was affiliated with the National Rifle Association, the Republican National Committee, Le Club d’ Domaine Carneros, V. Sattui Winery, Sugar Valley Golf Club, and the Cooking Club of America.
She was a true connoisseur of fine wine and gourmet cooking, a love that she shared with her friends and family over well-seasoned meals and laughter. Whether she was enjoying a sunny day on the golf course, cheering on her University of Michigan football team, playing Euchre, or simply lounging in the sun; Jill has always made time for the things that brought her joy. Everyone that knew Jill knew her deep love of the arts and music. She could be found frequently playing her Chickering piano, which was a staple of the Daane household.
Jill is survived by her mother, Jean Daane; her two children, Mitchell and Drew Daane; her siblings, Judy (Russ) Clark, Jana (Steve) Baker, and Dan Daane; along with their families and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, David A. Daane.
As we remember Jill, let us embrace her mantra, “Be good, be good at it.” Her presence in our lives was a precious gift, and her legacy will live on in the countless hearts she touched. May her soul rest in peace, knowing she will always be a cherished child of God.
