Jo Ann Davis

DAVIS, Jo Ann, 87, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Jo Ann was born on May 8, 1930 to Irv and Edith (Emerick) Allen, in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Fairview HS in 1948. Jo Ann married her high school sweetheart James Davis in 1959. In addition to being a homemaker, she found rewarding work, serving as a bus driver for Centerville schools for over 20 years. She is a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, and founded the Grace Methodist Alice Hefner Circle in 1956. Jo Ann was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She loved spending time in nature, oftentimes going on camping and fishing adventures with her family. Later in life she became an avid bird watcher. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James E. Davis; Brother Robert Allen; and Sister Dorothy Hickey. She is survived by her sons Gary and Glenn (Regina) Davis, and Grandsons Angelo and Zach. A visitation will held from 10-12pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Routsong Funeral Home 81 N. Main St, Centerville 45459, with a service to follow. Burial at Dayton Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for their support and care, as well as Jo Anns close friends Janet Pace and Karen Jonas.
