age 93, of Oakwood, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005. She received her B.S degree from Ohio State University and her Masters degree from Michigan State. Joan briefly taught Speech and Drama at Roosevelt High School. She was a member of Dayton Country Club and Dayton Women’s Club. Preceded in death by her husband, John Connelly and brother, Herbert Brusman. Survived by two daughters, Kathi (Tom) Sweeterman of Dayton and Mary Jo (Paul) Martin, of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Lisa Sweeterman, of Cincinnati and Molly (Christopher) Charles, of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Marie) Highfield, of Steubenville, OH and Dan Martin, of Seattle, WA; two great-grandchildren, Mariah and Regina Highfield. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM, Monday, April 18, 2005 at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering with Father James Manning officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to service time at the church.
