Joan Lee Gramann

GRAMANN, Joan Lee (nee Stuemer) age 83 of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was born in Dearborn, MI on September 30, 1931, moved to Cincinnati as a teen, and lived in Kettering to start a family. Joan decided she wanted to be a nurse at age 42, and proceeded to graduate with honors from Sinclair School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at St. Elizabeth Hospital until she retired. Joan loved gardening, reading, crafts, and sewing in her younger days. She was a fan of almost every sport, but notably hydroplane boat racing, Ohio State football, and passionately the Cincinnati Reds. She had a wonderful sense of humor and lived to help friends (and strangers) as long as she was able. She was giving, joyful, loyal and loving. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles F. and Ida E. (Kaupp) Stuemer, and an older brother Donny who died before she was born. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie "Stevie" Wallace (Scott Allspaw) of Cincinnati; a son, John (Michele) Gramann of Kettering; grandchildren, Ian and Katie Wallace, and Matt Gramann; cousin, Jeannie Sisson who was like a sister; and many dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering with a memorial service following at 7:00p. The family will receive friends again following the service until 8:30pm. Burial will take place in Arlington Cemetery, Cincinnati at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lung Society, 4050 Executive Park Dr #402, Cincinnati, OH 45241, Our Daily Bread Ministries (ourdailybread.org), or any charity of your choice.
