Joanna T. Clay (Nee Clouse)

CLAY, Joanna T., (nee Clouse) age 66, of Centerville, formerly of West Carrollton, passed away October 13, 2003 at Southview Hospital. Joanna was a graduate of West Carrollton High School and Earlham College, Richmond, IN. Her many memberships include, the Friendship Force, the Centerville Washington Diversity Council, South Metro Optimist Club and an organizing member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday Church School, was a Superindent and a council member. Joanna was the past president of AFS Intercultural Programs with the Centerville Chapter, and past chairperson of the Centerville Sister City committee. Being active in various groups, water aerobics, book clubs, CTK Bridge, and Normandy Bridge, She was an organizer of Girls soccer in Centerville. Joanna was a world traveler having visited 74 countries. After 30 years of service, Joanna retired from Centerville City Schools and Normandy Elementary teaching 4th and 5th grade. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Geraldine Clouse. Joanna is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Kendall Clay; son and daughter-in-law, Kendall (Kristy) Clay of Dublin, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Jenanne (Dave) Currie of Canton, MI; 4 grandchildren, Preston and Abby Currie and Kendall and Bailey Clay; and 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Carol) Clouse of Potomac, MD, and George (Cheryl) Clouse of West Carrollton. A memorial service will be held Friday, at 11:00 AM October 17, 2003 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 50 Nutt Rd., Centerville with Rev. Thomas Rutherford officiating. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4-7:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville.
