ERVIN, Joanne (Jocha), beloved wife of James Ervin of Oakwood passed away after a brief illness on August 4, 2007 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and John Jocha. She is survived by her husband, Jim of 35 years; daughters, Kennedy “Colleen” of Westerville, Oh, Megan of Oakwood; son, Ryan of Delaware, Oh. She also leaves behind her only sister, Marianne Jocha of Westerville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joanne achieved her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from The Ohio State University. She also earned her J.D. at the University of Dayton. She ran a successful law practice with a certification in labor and employment law in the Dayton area for 15 years, taught at the University of Dayton, and was a faculty member at Wright State University. Joanne was a member of many law organizations including the American Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Dayton Bar Association, also serving in the D.B.A. Inn of Court. Friends will be welcomed by the family at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, Wednesday, August 8 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dan Meyer at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Thursday. Joanne’s final resting place will be Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
