Joanne Louise Schaaf

SCHAAF, Joanne Louise, age 62, of Bellbrook, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. Joanne had a love of helping people. She volunteered regularly at the senior centers Annual Pancake Breakfast, the Beavercreek Theatre Club, Day of Caring, Family Violence Prevention Center and many other organizations that she held dear. Joanne enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking trails at the Sugarcreek Reserve or walking her granddogs around her neighborhood. She had a special place in her heart for frogs, especially Kermit the Frog. She leaves behind her son (Thomas TJ Joseph) who has artistic talents she always admired, a daughter (Kimberly) whose ability to be strong and face any challenge constantly made her proud, a chosen-sister (Leslie) who supported her through nearly 30 years of heartbreaks and celebrations, and enough friends to last for several lifetimes. Her dream was to one day retire to a cabin on a mountain where she could hike trails every day and gaze at the stars every night- a dream cut short by a battle with aggressive cancer. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on (Wednesday, May 2, 2018) at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering, with time for Family and Friend Reflections at 6:30pm.
