Joe Anna Cassel

Cassel, Joe Anna, age 79, of Oakwood, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2005 at her residence. Joe Anna graduated from Fairview High School, attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA and received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Ohio State University. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Friends of Dayton Art Institute, Garden Club of America – Dayton Chapter, Montgomery County Medical Society Alliance, Dayton Women’s Club, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and a past board member of the YWCA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Pauline Brown; and sisters Helen Albin and Bernadine Brown; Joe Anna is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William Cassel; four daughters, Catherine Cassel Talmadge of Westport, CT; Polly Cassel, of North Hampton, MA; Beth Cassel of San Rafael, CA; and Martha Ann Cassel of Cambridge, MA; and grandchildren, Carolyn, Stella, Eva and Rudy. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2005 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering, with Rev. James Wagner officiating. Family will receive friends from 2-3:00 PM at the church. Private burial in Dayton Memorial Park.
