Johannah Christine Bachman

BACHMAN, Johannah Christine, age 82, of Kettering, OH passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012. Johannah was a graduate of Kenton High School, received a Biology Degree from Mt. Saint Joseph in Cincinnati and later received her Nursing Degree from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. Johannah worked for St. Elizabeth Medical Center as a registered nurse for 26 years until her retirement. Johannah was active in the Dayton Area Diabetes Association and was a volunteer at Hospice of Dayton. She was also voted one of the United Way's Top Ten Volunteers of the year in 1983. Johannah was an 11 year member of the Beta Lambda chapter of the Sigma Beta Sorority located in Dayton, OH. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. Johannah loved to bowl, travel, and was an avid fan of the UD Flyers and Ohio State. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Edna Brown; and daughter, Christine Bachman. Johannah is survived by her children, Karen (Ron) Hogrefe of Xenia, Kurt Bachman of Eaton, and Craig Bachman of Kettering; and grandchildren, Trifon Chapman, and Kristen and Kyle Bachman. Family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 26, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering. Gifts may be made in the memory of Johannah to the Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to thank all the caring staff at the Hospice of Dayton and Oak Creek Terrace for all their help.
