REINERT, John E. age 88, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
Jacks Earthly existence was characterized by an unquenchable thirst for adventure; in the air, on the land, and sometimes on the water. Whether piloting his Bonanza, riding his Harley, or captaining his pontoon, he was always fully alive. Jack was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and son; a man of compassion, industry, and most of all, humor.
He was born on August 7, 1930, to the late Leonard and Jessie (Neuling) Reinert, in Columbus, OH. Jack was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School (class of 1947), and a member of Kettering Optimist club, Moraine air park, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Jack is preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Westendorf; and siblings, Bobby Joe, Leonard, Phyllis, Rita, and Dorothy. He is survived by his remarkable wife of 66 years, Joyce; daughters, Diane (Steve) Olmsted, Debbie (Barry) Mancz, Dorian (Christopher) Eads, Danita Nelson, and Danell (Vincent) Bonanno; sons, John (Diane) Reinert, and James (Danette) Reinert; son-in-law, Kenneth Westendorf; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Family will greet friends from 5-7pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, OH 45429, at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Tri-State SOH Chapter, 4370 Glendale-Milford Rd, Cincinnati, 45242.
