age 83, of Centerville, passed away Friday, July 12, 2002. He was a 1937 graduate of Roosevelt High School. John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theatre in the 37th Division with 136th Field Artillery. He was a toolmaker for M & M Precision Systems, retiring in 1987. John was a longtime member of Central Christian Church and Trotwood Lodge F & AM #755. Preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Lillian Sauer; and 2 brothers, Don and Robert Sauer. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Alberta; 2 sons, John Sauer, Jr. and David and his wife, Gayla Sauer; daughter, Sandra and her husband ''Butch'' Ayers; 2 grandsons, Nathan and Mark Ayers; 2 granddaughters, Rachel Beck and Chantel Ayers-Kalish; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Richard and his wife, Anna Marie Sauer; and sister, Margaret and her husband, Fred Davidson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, with Pastor David Turner officiating. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 PM, Tuesday, in the funeral home, with lodge services at 7:45 PM. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
