John G. ''Jack'' Lyons

age 65 of Kettering, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Delphi Automotive, Kettering. Jack was a member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, the George L. Marshall #734 F.&A.M., Mt. Moriah Chapter #230 R.A.M., Adoniram Council #131 R.&S.M., Valley Commandery #80 K.T., Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple, Bellbrook Lions Club where he was a past president, Dayton Aerie #321, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge #1645 of Miamisburg and was an Amateur Radio operator whose call letters were N8ZOF. Preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lyons; his father, J. Edward Lyons and his mother, Hattie (Cook) Watkins. Survived by his wife, J. Elaine (Metzler); a daughter, Sue (Kelly) Blair of Kettering; a son, Jim (Karen) Lyons of Melbourne, FL; 5 grandchildren, Eric and Kyle Lyons and Nikki, Jessica and Jack Blair; and numerous family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering with Rev. Julia K. Wharff of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church and Rev. Nona Holy officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-6:00 P.M., Sunday in the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with masonic services at 6:00 P.M. if desired, contributions may be made to Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering, Ohio 45440 or your charity of choice.
