John James Burneka

John James Burneka, 54, of Oakwood, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at home. He was born April 2, 1962, to the late Stanley Francis Burneka and Marjorie Ann Lardner. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Melissa Kay Ann Burneka; his children, Ashley Burneka, John Burneka (Liz), Jacob Burneka, Amanda Burneka, Zach Burneka, Ally Burneka, Noah Burneka, his siblings, Jerry Burneka (Grace), Rosanne Thies (Richard), Daniel Burneka, Marianne Raterman (Phil), Frank Burneka (Dyla) and Stephen Burneka, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Burneka; sister Margaret Burneka Snyder, Brother in law, Richard Thies, and sister in law Grace Burneka. John's joy in life was his children. He enjoyed watching the sports they played. He loved watching them mature. Friends and family will gather for a visitation from 3-6:00PM, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at Holy Angels Church. A private burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
