SLISH, John P., age 77 of Kettering, died, Thursday, April 4, 2002. He was a member and former deacon of Central Christian Church. John retired as owner and Chairman of the Board of Dayton Reliable Air Filter. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. John's memberships included, the Racquet Club, Oakwood Sister City Club, the Historical Society, and Sycamore Country Club. He also served as a councilman for the city of Bellbrook. John's professional affiliations included the National Air Filtration Association. John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Denzell ''Dennie'' Slish; daughter, Judy (Frank) Leopard of Kodak, TN; son, Robert L. ''Bob'' (Karen) Berry, of Burbank, WA; grandchildren, Deborah (Ivan) Staley of Chicago, IL, Lori Shaw of Chicago, IL, Robin (Michael) Smith, of Kirkland, WA, Tim (Bonnee) Berry of Burbank, WA, Deanna (Justin) Stallard of Franklin, OH; great grandchildren, Britney, Erika, Robert and Violet. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, April 9, at 11:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial in David's Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Monday evening from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army,PO Box 7, Dayton, OH 45402.
