John R. Fish (Dick)

FISH, John R. (Dick) Age 70, of Washington Township OH, passed away on Monday, Dec 5, 2005 at his residence. He was born on December 23, 1934, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Walter and Helen Fish. Dick’s 37 years of successful service management began when he joined the Burroughs Corporation (UNYSIS) in 1956. In 1967 he joined the International Division of Burroughs and was assigned to Fribourg, Switzerland where he was Area Service Manager for Europe and Africa. Returning to the United States he was manager of International Training & Products in Detroit. Overseeing training centers in Ruislip, England, Sidney Australia, Paris France and South Africa. He joined Standard Register in 1971 where he led an existing service organization to a position where its professional performance was not only profitable but dedicated to customer satisfaction. Dick served in the US Navy from 1954-1960. Dick was a member of CBEMA - Service Management Council 1976-1984, chairman of its council in 1981, and Senior Fellow in1983. Dick was a Corporate Member of Grandview Hospital from 1976-1992 and a Board Trustee for Grandview from 1979-1985. Dick was preceded in death not only by his parents but by his two sons, John Gary and George Allen. He is survived by his wife, Ann S. Fish (Sue), Stephen R. Fish of Berkley, MA, Susan Louise Fish of Athens, OH, Judith Ann of Wash. Twp, his grandson, George Harris Fish of MA, his brothers, Walter M. Fish and his wife, Pat of Wayne, PA and George David and his wife, Betty of Rosemont, PA. A memorial service for Dick will be held Saturday Dec. 17th at 11:00 am at Normandy United Methodist Church. 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd. Centerville, Oh 45459. Internment will take place at Arlington Cemetery in Upper Darby, PA. Contributions in memory of Dick may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Greater Dayton, 1293-H Lyons Road, Centerville OH 45458.
