John Robert - 'Bob' Choplin

CHOPLIN, John Robert "Bob", age 71 of Monterey California, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. Bob served his country in the US Air Force from which he retired in 1986. He earned his PhD at the University of Texas at Austin and became a Professor at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California where he retired in 2003. Bob was a devoted family man who loved traveling, playing tennis and his San Francisco 49'ers. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rosa Choplin. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Henrietta K. Choplin; daughters Alicia, her mother Lori, Jessica and her husband Justin; brother Ric; niece Diane, husband Jonathon and baby Jacob; grandchildren Blue, Cypress, and Johnni; and many loving friends. Scattering of ashes will be held at a private family ceremony in San Diego, CA. Special "Thank You" to his loving friends at AA and all of the medical professionals who helped with his care.
