WEIBEL, John Jr., age 80, of Kettering passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. John was born October 5, 1925 in New Orleans, LA. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Oakwood and member of Frigidaire Retirement Club (TOM). John served his country during WWII as a navigator in the Army Air Force. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lousiana State University, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and a MA in Industrial Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. John’s business career was spent entirely with General Motors where he was Chief Engineer of Frigidaire, Chief Engineer of the Diesel Equipment Division in Grand Rapids, MI and Director of Engineering of Rochester Products Division in Rochester, NY. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Fern Ewing and Janis Lochte. John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his two sons, Kenneth (Kathy) and their children, Kristen and Kelsey of Erie, PA and David (Ellen) and their children, Brian, Kevin and Colin of Columbus, OH; daughter, Nancy Warvel (Matt) and their children, Sara and Amanda of Kettering; and sister, Audrey Burch (Colin) of Maryland. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 1:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Pastor Gary Eichhorn officiating. Prior to the service the family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment in David’s Mausoleum immediately following the service. In memory of John, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Ste. 100, Dayton, OH 45449.
