Joseph Allen Ryan

RYAN, Joseph A. (Joe), 56, Kettering, Ohio, died suddenly Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital. Joe was born October 7, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the loving son of Anna Mae (Ricke) Ryan and Joseph A. Ryan. Joe was also a loving son to Anita Ryan. He was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend and a loyal long-term employee of Tru-North Energy (Shell), a faithful and active member of Holy Angels Church, where he served as usher of the Saturday evening service for many years, and a very devoted Cleveland Browns fan. He graduated from Archbishop Alter High School in 1973. Survivors include five (5) sisters, Mrs. Cheryl (Robert) Marcel, Mrs. Linda (Kevin) Rush, Mrs. Jo Ann (Kenneth) Botts, Mrs. Jeannie (William) Rieger and Mrs. Anita (Tyler) Scott. Also surviving are three (3) brothers, Joseph (Yvonne) Holtvogt, Neal (Annette) Holtvogt and Kevin (Kim) Ryan; and 23 nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Ryan, in 2005, his stepmother, Anita J. Ryan, in 1995, and his mother, Anna Mae Ryan, brother, Richard Edward Ryan and sister, Julie Ann Ryan, all of whom were killed in an auto accident in 1960. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6, at Holy Angels Church, Dayton, Ohio, with the Rev. Dan Meyer officiating, with the burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, at the Kettering chapel of Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering.
