SIMMONS Jr., Joseph Henry "Bill", 78, of Kettering passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Bill was a graduate of Bladensburg HS in Bladensburg, MD and later earned his Associate Degree from Sinclair Community College. He worked for nearly 33 years at Wright-Patterson AFB in the Propulsion Laboratory, retiring as Branch Chief. Bill was a member of the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church where he was a trustee and a loyal "Presbyterian Women" husband. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. Sr. and Ann Marie Simmons, and his brother, George Simmons. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Janice; daughters Susan Turner and Linda (Dan) Sny; granddaughter, Kelley Turner; sister, Shirley (Richard) Colligan; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He will be remembered as a good man. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, October 10th from 5-7:00PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Memorial Services will be 11:00AM on Saturday, October 11th at the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering, 45440. If desired, donations in Bill's memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45420) or to Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church.
