On September 4, Josh Stimmel went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on March 27, 1981, in Bowling Green, Ohio; Josh was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend whose life was marked deeply by faith and a love for family.
Throughout life's journeys, Josh's unwavering faith in Christ was a source of comfort and strength, a faith that still holds him fast in the arms of his Savior.
Josh was, and still is, a man who loved his family deeply, finding joy in life's simple pleasures. He cherished the moments spent with his beloved wife Leslie and sons, Owen, Elijah, and Caleb. Whether it was building LEGO creations, playing with his boys, taking walks at Cox Arboretum, cooking and sharing meals, or simply hanging out, Josh's greatest happiness was always in the presence of his family and loved ones.
A graduate of Crown College with a degree in Biology, Josh proudly served in the Air Force for eight years. His work was a role that he couldn't fully describe, but one that brought comfort to those who knew him, knowing he performed it with excellence. He felt honored to serve alongside a remarkable group of colleagues. Josh also deeply valued his "Band of Brothers," his small group at Fairhaven Church, whose fellowship enriched his journey of faith.
Josh is survived by his devoted wife, Leslie, and three sons, Owen, Elijah, and Caleb; parents, Jack and Diana Stimmel of Wisconsin; brother, Jon (Julie); and nieces, Brynn and Elly of Wisconsin. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, his in-law family, and many faithful friends will deeply feel his absence and wish for just one more hug. Josh's absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him. Because of our hope in Christ, we have confidence that we will see Josh again.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, September 10 from 4:00pm-5:00pm at Fairhaven Church's Schwam Chapel, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Kettering, with Memorial Services beginning at 5:00pm.
"For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD has heard my supplication. The LORD receives my prayers." (Psalm6:8b-9) "Is it not sweet to the believer that our tears are understood even when words fail…tears as liquid prayers." (Charles Spurgeon)
A GoFundMe has been set up for Leslie and the family.
