Tarziers, Joshua Delmar, age 45, a beloved son, father and brother passed away on September 22, 2024. Joshua lived in Dayton and was a former resident of Kettering.
Born on October 13, 1978, Joshua attended Fairmont High School and was a certified Gunsmith. As a toddler, he was crowned Little Master Labor Day in the Kettering “Holiday at Home” parade. He was the founding member of Team Shakes, supporting the Epilepsy Foundation. Joshua loved his cat, Pouncer, and his dog, Pebbles. Pebbles was more than just a dog; she was a beloved protector of Josh using her instincts to keep him safe. Josh was always up for an adventure. He went wild boar hunting, participated in the White-Knuckle Scramble (vintage minibike racing), and witnessed the Psyche launch from Kennedy Space Center. Additionally, Josh loved his country and he was in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021 at Capitol Hill.
However, the things Joshua did does not truly capture his essence. What defines Josh is who he was – a loving, kind-hearted person whose spirit touched everyone he met. He was family-oriented and incredibly thoughtful, always willing to help anyone in need. It was important to Josh to help educate others as they shared their stories living with Epilepsy. His peaceful, generous heart was a blessing to those around him and his family feels deeply honored to have loved him throughout his time on earth.
A memorial service will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH on October 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with a celebration of Joshua’s life and 46th Heavenly birthday to follow.
Joshua was preceded in death by Dr. Dick and Dottie Cummings and Earl D. “Chuck” Creager, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Joan (Leonard) Creager Folz; son, Noah Darr; brother, Mark (Nicole) Tarziers; sister, Tara (Tyler) Tarziers Johnson; niece, Eleanor and nephews Quentin, Lincoln and Wade. Additionally, Josh is survived by a bonus brother, Rick (Angie) Folz and children; bonus sister, Regan (Oscar) Vargas and children and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Joshua Tarziers, through Josh’s grandfather, Dr. Richard Cummings Preservation Fund at The Carillon Historical Park, 1000 Carillon Blvd, Dayton, OH 45409.
